Ladies and gentlemen, nothing says exploitation and racism better than, a child’s toy, a brown Barbie, that’s half the price of a Caucasian doll that looks exactly the same.
The picture was taken at Wal-Mart, which may have been a contributing factor; a place known for low prices and clearance items.
But the picture was also taken February 2010, so we can’t say with any certainty that Wal-Mart was just trying to be nice to all the black folk for Black History Month…
I really don’t understand the attention, it’s not like the brown Barbie’s were placed in packages that already had prison bars on them, or if they had done with this the brown Barbie’s that come impregnated; it might have been a better deal […] and more true to life.
The attempt at equality was made; all the plastic Barbie’s were on hooks…
Or was this just a simple business decision? Was Wal-mart simply trying to clearance items that were not selling good. This would lead us to think that brown kids don’t like brown Barbie’s because they’re not real, therefore can’t get hooked on crack and ‘Ho’ themselves out. It could’ve been a faulty price gun.
It’s indeterminate…
But I think Wal-Mart has learned a valuable lesson here […] not to cheapen an already devalued item… equality is the way to go, and all toys should be created equal and treated as such.
The only other option would be to ship them the ‘Penitentiary For Misfit Toys’.
