One thing that I really think that all Americans should have is medical coverage. I would gladly pay another 10-15% in taxes if all I had to do was flash my little ‘medical card’ and get the coverage I needed.
The horror stories that we get from regular people on a daily basis about medical issues and not being covered under insurance is the biggest failure of America.
I am ashamed of the country I live in. I was reading this article… and I am reminded that our government is too big to function. It’s got career politicians and lobbyists pumping excessive money in to swaying votes for special interest groups. At that point, the government isn’t there for the people; it’s there for them…
So having stated that, my government has failed me, has failed the millions who cried for coverage; only to be presented with a production which was not what people were asking for at all…
The reason Americans can’t get insurance or medical coverage is the COST.
Insurance companies are, and have been, fighting for years to keep their empire in place. To which people who need coverage can’t get it.
One of the last things you want to hear as a parent, and your child is sick, is to hear some ‘person’ tell you they can’t do the treatment because your insurance won’t cover it, and your child will die in x hours, days or weeks. This is disgusting. At this point, life has officially been labeled with a price tag. People become nothing more than a number with a price tag.
I’ve never been in this position and I hope I never have to be, but there should be rules for common decency. To simply respect life… respect the person.
I was not surprised to see the concerns of millions of people, being thrown to the wind by politicians that are clearly ‘bought and paid for’ by the big health companies. The career politicians talk big, but they’re doing nothing more than appeasing the masses, because once they’re behind closed doors they’re only there to cover their own asses.
I believe a lot about the early pioneers coming to America. How much and how far did they allow the government push them around until it forced a revolution; forcing independence and the forging of a new government. Rebellion was the key to freedom.
The constitution was a way to say definitively that we’re free and these are the things that we see that are incorrect and things that need to be corrected. And from there, politicians and lawyers have skewed the constitution with their biased views.
There’s no reason in this time for anyone to go hungry, homeless, or without medical coverage. These should be in a human bill of rights; everyone should be entitled to basic needs.
BUT America is corrupt from the top down. Obama ran on the grounds he was going to change things, and he wasn’t going to let old Washington turn his direction, but he’s a failure, because he has done exactly that. He has allowed Washington to remove is balls and also allowed a bunch of old racist, bigoted politicians turn our government in to a spectacle of stupidity.
And the media doesn’t expose this at all. They don’t do their jobs anymore by exposing the trust issues and the misuse of power and how politicians are lying to the public; they seem to only repeat what they’re fed.
My America— the corrupt.
…and that beats all.
Good day.
