When Obama was running for office, before we realized that he’s now just another bought and paid for politician running on the slogan ‘yes we can’ [put a black man in the office, and make things much worse]; the people cried for justice, equality and level of transparency.
The debates on who was right and who was incorrect, who’s going to fix this political mess?
Nothing like that has happened…
But this event with WikiLeaks is fairly large in comparison— I believe larger than anything else. I believe that people have been shown how the world of politics operates and it’s got them irritated. The US government has been hit in the face with it’s corrupted-ness and now want to fight back.
They can do this by attacking the person who leaked the information and they can attack/punish the person who took the information, Manning.
At this point in time, the United States is somewhere in the mix of Star Wars, Clockwork Orange and V for Vendetta.
Politicians are bought and paid for, words and promises are nothing but vapor and the American public is supposed to believe everything they see and hear on the new media.
Americans have called for transparency, they want the truth and they want an honest government again, but all I can see from all this is the scene from ‘V for Vendetta’ where the president is on the big screen, screaming out reasons why the people should be scared of him and why we need the government the way it is…
We need to really look at the position we’re putting ourselves in, and be asking. ‘is this the right place?’… I have to say no.
If the attack on Assange happens and they [the world governments] turn on him, all journalists, and their freedoms, are going to be subject to review and can be stripped at any given time, based on political pressure. And if the treatment of Manning is true, why is this not covered more by the media, like Gitmo was…
You have to admin there’s some crap going on here that’s not right.
…And that beats all.
